Canadian Winnie Adventurer 35 Odometer

Im considering purchasing a 2000 Adventurer 35U that came from Canada. A local RV Center purchased it from the Canadian resident and the title is now registered in Florida stating that the odometer reading is in kilometers as was shown on the Canadian title. Anybody seen this before?

Odometer shows 72,000 and change
Converted to Statute Miles would be 46,200

I wouldn't worry about it if its on the title. Just convert you KM's to Miles or swap out the odometer to miles.

depending on the chassis / cluster used, you may find a button that will allow you to toggle the display back to display miles instead of KM.

Canadian Winnie Adventurer 35 Odometer

The odometer is a mechanical readout, not the digital kind.

I can't help with your question however I had an 01 35u Chieftain and it served me well for 63,000 miles while we traveled to 49 States and all 10 Canadian Provinces.
Great MH.

The odometer is in KMs. That would probably mean that the speedometer is also in KPH as the biggest numbering with MPH as the littlest numbering. It will take a little to get used to it. Ask the dealer for some more off on the price for all the future math you are going to have to do when your driving.

Normally vehicule sold in Canada have both KM/Miles, the Km are normally bigger than the miles, if you want to convert km to miles for your knowledge...
100km times 5 divided by 8 will give you 62.5 miles..
If you drive 100 km per hour your going at 62.5 miles per hour.
Hope this helps a bit... dont get fooled by the bigger number.
100000 kilometers is only 62000 miles....

I ran a CarFAX report on the vehicle and found out it was first titled in GA, then SC and finally ended up in Quebec. Seems that the Quebec Motor Vehicle Dept required the odometer to be changed to kilomenters. It was recently sold to a FL dealer and the notation on the title reports in kilometers.

The speedometer outer dial is in MPH with the smaller corresponding numbers on the inside are kilometers. So this vehicle was built for USA.

Dealer did say that a DOT Inspector came by to inspect and signed off on title showing kilometers, so I feel like I'm good to go.

Official conversion from kilometers to miles is 0.62137
