Carefree Colorado Awning

Help does anyone know of a lock for a Carefree of Colorado slide out awning? We were in a little bit of wind and it was coming unrolled.

Kerrbe, Were you parked with the slide(s) out or are you referring to it coming unrolled during travel?

There are no slide topper "locks" per se for slide toppers in the extended position. The manufacturers only use an anti-billow device to prevent the topper from billowing/ballooning around while stowed during travel. These devices require the slide topper to be fully retracted in order to operate. So, if you're referring to the topper(s) coming unrolled while extended, no, there are no locks. If you're referring to billowing around while driving, then yes, yours should have provisions to prevent this. Here are a couple of links to the 2 most common anti-billow setups used by Carefree, of course depending upon which style of topper you have. The Holiday Ramblers used the combination topper and window awning setup quite often, as shown in the 2nd link below:

You might try tightening the roll up springs. A half to full turn of tightening might be enough and you don't have to remember to undo any locks.

As asked, which awning is it. Topper or Patio?

Large slide out topper

I have a large slide out on the drivers side........nearly the whole side of the rig.......living in the Texas Panhandle, I have had issues with loosing the whole thing while driving on the interstate......and subsequently, sudden gusts have lifted it off center and pulled the ends out with a violent unrolling of the tension spring. ($90 for each fix job by mobile RV tech)
I am considering this option and wonder if any have researched it: SlideOutBoot install - YouTube
