Same layout as ours...

Thought about laminate to replace the tile, ....but the tile is nice...saved the $$$$

OK, I have thought long and hard about this......

I agree that the job takes 30+ hours....If you include removing old carpet, pads, couches, seats etc...

What I have a "problem" with is the labor rate.....

$85/ hour for carpet install??????? This is what some of us pay for a qualified diesel technician.

The removal process is pure unskilled labor...
The installation indeed takes some skills....GOOD Carpet installers make $15/hour
Granted, the drivers area and the engine area are "different" in an RV and take more time and artistry to get it right. but most of the job is exactly the same as a house. @ $1/sq foot.

Not $85/ hour though.....the guys doing the work are making $15/hr at MOST...so $70/hour is pure profit? PLUS the profit on the carpet and pad itself???

And I thought $2700 for the whole job, was a bit expensive...

And we complain about fuel gouging?? They are taking advantage of the demographic of RVers (In My Opinion)
