Carpet tack strips or staples

I'm getting ready to pull up my carpet and replace with new and better quality carpet. I wondering, if there are any tact strips used, or is it all just stapled along the edges? From what I can see, being I haven't removed any furniture, it's installed with staples. Please advise, if you've been down this road. Thanks!

Just removed the carpet out of my 2007 Fleetwood Expedition, it had tack strips along all the walls.

Not exactly your question, but we had carpet installed after market into a MH with no carpet except on the slides. They installed it with two sided tape. Very simple and has lasted two years now just fine. Might be better than new staples or tack strips.

Mine had tack strips. Replaced carpet with sheet vinyl. Search my username for thread with description and pictures. Good luck!

Thanks all for your replies, finally got tired of contemplating, and tore into it yesterday pulling out all the carpet and vinyl flooring. All staples and glue, no tact strips. I'll post some pictures when I finish the project.
