A tracer should work regardless of type of wire as long as its copper. Shielding might reduce the pickup but not if you attach to the shield.

I agree that a CB could be useful for the reasons mentioned and just haven't gotten around to hooking mine up. There is still some value.

I had trouble on previous MH getting much reception so wondered about a pro install. Those shops are still those around...one near Knoxville I hear.

Almost any large truck stop has a nearby CB shop.

Yeah. We use them on the Goldwings all the time. Granted, they're only good for a couple miles, but, we're usually never that far apart.
