I am loving the outcome of this.....I switched mine to 13 this evening while doing some prep work for our upcoming trip! I am not sure I will be passing anyone who has chimed in on this thread but, I will be listening for sure!!
This could be fun!

It must be 10 years ago, or so, but I'm pretty sure that someone here on the forum had decals with number 13 (??) on it, to place on the back of your rig, if you monitored CB13.

Anybody else remember that?

How about a pool ball number 13 on the rear and in the upper passenger side window as well as the sides. Make it a ball about 12 inches accrosss and no one but other RV's will know what it means.

We could make it out of decal plastic so it's weath proof and voila a movement is born.

I just came from CAFEPRESS.COM They have hundreds of number 13 stickies and bumper stickers. We could either all get the same one or just recognize that anyone with a number 13stuck on their RV is probably one of us. Easy enough to confirm on channel 13. It would make the world a nicer and smaller place.

We might even have a custom IRv2 stickrrakr up. Have a thousand or so made up and hand them out at rallies and campgrounds.

If you're not IN you're OUT.

The OP didn't say that monitoring or talking on CB channel 13 is mandatory, just that it is a good idea.
Since you don't agree why don't you simply not use your CB?
I doubt that anyone will miss you.....(I know I won't)!

Mel, should have looked at Post #22, 3 hours before your sarcastic remark.

Guess I will have to go out in the garage and see if I still have an old CB out there in a box. Back in the day I always had a base station and one in the car. If you used any foul language then everyone else would stomp on you (key mic over you). If you continued there were hard core people into CBs that would try to find you and report your license plate to the FCC. Most of us even used our call sign, mine was KAKU5158. Sounds like things have changed for the worse.

If I do come up with an antique to use I would love to join in on 13.

13 sounds like a good channel to use. If traffic get backed on 4 lane and I don't get a response on 13, I'll switch to 19 to listen for which lane will be open.

It also good to watch big trucks to see which lane they are mostly going into in situations where there is a lane closed due to a wreck.
