Ceiling discolored

Our ceiling "carpet" is stained from previous leaks. No longer leaking. Has anyone successfully removed stains? Thinking of trying upholstery attachment on rub shampooed with a little bleach. Any other ideas or do I just stop looking up and forget it? Thanks all!

At the last FMCA rally we were at in North Bend OR a vendor there gave out a recipe she's used to successfully clean the ceiling carpet. I'm at work right now and don't have it with me but it was simple to make but you needed lots of ventilation and wear a mask as it had bleach in it.

My uncles rv has some stains around one of the vents and would love to have the formula if you get a chance to post it!!!

It was a commercial vendor that sells the micro fiber stuff. Tried finding the name online and haven't found it yet. The DW probably has the brochure in her stuff.

Use a little hydrogen peroxide (3% solution from drug store) mixed with about 2 or 3 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray on stained area soaking it fairly thoroughly and allow to dry. Stubborn stains may take 2 or more applications.

I used a product made for carpet stains, comes in a pump spray bottle. Sprayed it on, let it work for a few minutes, then daubed with a damp paper towel. Next day repeated the above and all staining disappeared.

Folex is what Country Coach recommends for the floor carpet in their rigs and we've used it for years at home.
But that's not what the woman recommended. It may work fine but her's was much cheaper to make.

I used oxyclean in a spray bottle. Worked great on my ceiling and carpet in my basement compartments. It did leave some white powder residue that came off with a vacuum.

Mix up Oxyclean with hot water and spray it on. Suck it out with the upholstery wand from a carpet cleaner.

We used a cleaner called "Awesome Cleaner" from the Dollar Store. It is pretty concentrated so we diluted it by 50-60 percent. soaked the stained areas and blotted it out then did the same thing with plain water. Stain was better than 95% removed on first try. better than 98% removed on second try.

OK, I asked the DW where the brochure was and she actually remembered!

Club soda
bleach
white vinegar
hot water

Equal portions in a spray bottle

Spray just to the point of dripping then stop and let dry. May have to repeat.

Be careful of the the concentrate, the bottle says it will even etch glass if used full strength.
