Ceiling Fan

Wanting to get a newer RV. I don't see many that come with a bedroom ceiling fan. I would appreciate guidance from anyone who has installed a bedroom ceiling fan in a Class A.
My current coach has a 12-volt ceiling fan and it really helps us out at night. I can find new fans and switches on Amazon and other places, but I haven't determined how to run the wiring to the ceiling. All help appreciated.

Look at Tiffin Alegro Gas model or any of the Tiffin diesels. When we purchase when I retire in about 3-4 years a bedroom ceiling fan on my wife's list of wants. I wish Newmar had them but I have not seen one yet with a fan in the bedroom.

Not sure about your floor plan - but most likely it has an A'cond in the bedroom. If yes there is 110 in the ceiling and it is not that hard to extend 110 a couple feet. std residential fan should work just fine.

We had a 12v RV fan installed in our Bounder many years ago. We went with 12v because I wanted to be able to run it without having the genny on. The wiring was fished through the ceiling & tied in to the wardrobe lights wiring.

The biggest problem with installing one is finding something strong enough in the ceiling to attach it to is what Fleetwood told me.
I would like one but with the air ducts and clearing the bedroom slide makes it hard.

good luck

Hi,

We have a paddle ceiling fan in our '14 Winnebago Adventurer and I think the '15's had it too. Ours is the 35P so go to their website and check out their different spec sheets.

We had one installed at Precision Paint in Indiana. 12V fan, somehow they picked up 12V from the celing air conditioner. Love it and would never have a coach again without one.

RVs generally need "ceiling hugger" style fans as well, since the ceilings are typically rather low in the bedroom.

As for "how to get 12v into the ceiling", each rig is its own challenge. Often you have to take down the ceiling material and maybe open a wall as well. There is no easy, common answer to routing wires there are are none.

The suggestion of using a 120v fan is likley to require less modification.

Purchased a12v ceiling fan running the wire and installation was a breeze. Found wire Chase next to bedroom ceiling vent That ran to wardrobe cabinets. Screwed fan into metal frame around vent. Had it up for 1 week and returned breeze was not that good made a lot of noise

I installed the following ceiling fan in our RV.

12 Volt RV Remote Control Ceiling Fan 36"

Our RV had a ceiling light, so it was a simple job to replace the light with this fan. I did have to make a wooden plate to cover the opening left by the light which I then mounted the fan to. This unit is controlled by the remote, so no additional wiring was needed, I just leave the light switch on. If you have a bedroom slide, make sure you have the required clearance when the slide is in.

We have a 12V ceiling fan in our 2014 Tuscany, and it has been a welcome feature on warm nights. I especially like that if it's just a little too warm in the bedroom, DW can flip on the fan (has a 2-speed wall switch by the bed), instead of asking me to get out of bed and trek to the front to adjust the thermostat.

Plenty of 12v ceiling fans out there for purchase. On my Bounder it would have been very simple to run the 12v wiring from the 12v distribution panel right in the BR. I opted not to do it for 2 reasons:
1) When the slide would come in it would hit the fan if placed over the bed
2) Nothing strong enough in the ceiling to support it where I wanted it (main concern was when driving it and all the stress and forces when hitting bumps). Went with a fantastic fan table top 12v fan and happy with it.

Are these fans in this topic exhaust fans or do they blow air in?
