Changing couch for recliners?

For all those who have replaced their original sofa; Our pass side window starts at about 30" above the floor. Recliners or recliner sofas are generally about 38"-40" tall at the back. Does the back height of the new furniture take away too much of your picture window? The DW sits opposite our sofa and she doesn't want me to block here view with a recliner sofa. Anyone have problems with this? Not with the DW......!
