I guess some people just feel the need to go up hills at 82 MPH. Personally , I DO NOT!. AND I have better things to do with my money.

Going uphill in a 24,000 lb vehicle at 82 mph? I'm with GRUU, ^^^, makes no sense to be roaring up and down hills at those speeds.

I just got back from a run out to the truckstop at apex in vegas... I was pulling the hhr toad...
got her weighted....
steer axel.....5260
drive axel....9200
toad axels...3200
gross weight....17660
so there's the reason it scoots pretty good...

I don't know what video some of you watched... but in my video I went all most all the way up baker grade in cruise.. doing 67 mph in a 75mph zone.... at the top of the hill, I said hey wonder if I went faster if it will pull 4th???? so to show that the coach wasn't tapped out I floored it.... and yes for right about 2 seconds it did get to 82 after which it up shifted and I slowed down.... never ever went up and down hills doing 82mph..

I also on a coach just like this one,... went to gear vender and did a 500 rpm over drive.... the results were the same I could run 3rd and kick over drive when pulling grades.... then kick it out if I needed more power...
my self,... I'd like to have a paddle shift 8 speed trans ... that way I could pick the gear....

Please watch the video again, he pretty much stays at 67mph, and has stated he normally sets his cruise control at 60-62 mph, same as me and many others I know. What LVRVLUVR has done is illustrate what he has done and what others could do to lower the RPMs while maintaining speed, if only we could find some 22.5" wheels to fit our 19.5" RVs. I like the idea of being able to maintain speed without making the engine sound like it's going to come roaring up through the dog house.

I want to add that I was not towing,,,the speed limit is 75 mph,... I was going 67... so 8 mph under...
even for the short 2 seconds at 80-82 mph ...that's only 5-7 mph over.... most chp's would let you slide...
when towing in cal I run 60mph baker to victor ville...they will write you up for 65 towing...

This is why I like the 8R-19.5 tire on my Bounder, you gain 2" in dia. over the new lower profile 19.5 tires. My tires are a fraction over 34" in dia. Les Schwab sells them.

It would be cheaper to trade the rig for one that had 22.5 wheels as basic. The wheel-wells are the wrong size, the bigger tires will probably rub on the structure, even in relatively small deflections. There's also a risk the front tires will hit the wheel well edges as you get towards full steering lock.

first off they don't make a class a 26' with 22.5s
the wheel wells are too big even with the 22.5s
they worked on my last 4 motorhomes... no problem..they turn lock to lock no problem..
trust me. if they were a problem I would not put them on...
