CHF on a 2005 Damon Daybreak (04 F53)

Hi folks,

I keep reading about the CHF. This is not something I would do myself but will talk to the truck place I go to about it.

Can someone explain to me exactly what the CHF entails. Has anyone performed it on a Damon Daybreak?

I do run my tires at 80psi and have a Roasmaster Reflex steering stabilizer on the front.

Would it in anyway invalidate an extended service plan (electrical and mechanical is covered)?

Thanks,

Do a forum search on CHF and you will get more info than you can absorb in one day.
It has nothing to do with your tire pressure, steering stabiliser or Damon brand. It's an F53 Chassis sway bar adjustment.

Thanks, you just explained what I needed to know. I can tell the service place it's sway bar adjustment.

Find a picture, from in the post, of the end of the sway bar, before and after, and show it to your mechanic.

Tell him, this is what I want.

I did get through some of the thread, just wondering does it place any stress on the sway bar.

Sure it does. Stress ( torque ) is what fights against the sway.

After the adjustment, the bar is more reactive to sway ( leaning ). That creates a more stable ride.

No one had mentioned breaking the bar or links.
Some have found loose of broken mounting hardware but that whether the CHF was done or not.

It's recommended that blue locktite and 66 ft lbs of torque be used on the bolts.

Thanks, this is info I can give to the service place. It could possibly be that it has been completed already by a previous owner.

1stMH, check the rubber bushings to make sure that they have not turned into goo. Best practice is to replace them with polyurethane bushings. A person on ebay by the name of skuterdude sells them.

Sounds good, is the Chf something a truck service place would do for me?

I called the Truck shop and spoke to the Service Manager. He was not aware of different settings on the rear sway bar but he said I can get under it with the tech who will perform the service and check it out. He said if the bushing look to need replacing they can get them in overnight. This is the same place that fitted The road master reflex for me. They are a decent shop.
