Disappearing deductible is added on the front end. Call insurance company and they will send out a repair shop at no charge to you and it won't go against you. If they won't, you really picked a winner for insurance.

Don't know what you mean by " front end ". In Fl we have zero ded on glass and when I had a windshield replaced my disappearing ded appeared again as $ 500 for all other claims. I still say IMHO,, don't bother them for a $69 repair.

And therein lies the clue to why your deductible went back up. With chip repairs they normally don't.

You could be right. I really don 't know how they handle chips ,as I haven't or wouldn't submit that to an ins. co. That's just me.

Had them (GMAC) do a repair in May for a chip on my rig they waived the deductible for the repair. Fixed while I was having lunch in a WM parking lot.

Just to clear up the whole "raise my premium" because I put in a windshield chip claim...
I received my Progressive renewal quote today. It will be $85 cheaper this year!!
They say "I earned it"...lol
oh, and I did put in a claim to have two windshield chips repaired w/out paying deductable...
Hope this helps clear up the confusion....

If anybody has their rate go up for a windshield, they need to find another insurance company. I've had 10+ windshields replaced in my MH and trucks and my rates never went up for that.
