All things equal what is your preference - automatic air levelers or automatic 3 point hydraulic?

Need to decide before ordering. Many thanks for your advice.

RV Wizard - you are correct in that the coach in question is important. It's a 42 foot Monaco Camelot which has the Hyraulic system standard with an air leveler option.

More info on the coach you have or are ordering would be helpful. I prefer actual jacks on ground to prevent rocking but if the coach is heavy enough it matters little. I also prefer 4 to 3. I like my Quadra Big Foot system.

We were without levelers until a few weeks ago. The difference is amazing. WWe had the Quadra fully automatic system installed near the 4 corners of the "house" on a large Class C. The automatic ones are just so much easier for me (bad back) as I don't usually have to put anything on the ground first, unless it is soft ground. The "big feet" don't sink in very deep.

Now we scoot around the parking spot to find the place that is "sort of level", shut off the engine, set the parking brake, dump the airbags and turn on the autolevelers. A couple of mintues later it is done and we are nearly dead level and stable also. There is very little rock or roll to the coach once we are "deployed."

Leaving is even more simple. Get squared away and then hit the Retract button and they all come up at the same time. YWhen we get an "All UP" light and away we go.

Hey Turtleback,

Our 1994 30' Class-C did not have levelers, and our 2000 34' Class-A does(HWH)!! I can tell you with out a doubt I will never own a coach with out them!!

I agree with RV Wizard, "I prefer actual jacks on ground" !!

I also agree with SteveR, "installed near the 4 corners of the house" !!

I have a question, if I may... The levelers that I have looked at as a possible addition to my older coach (1987 HR 30' class A) needed to be mounted to the frame front and rear. That puts them well inboard. The comments above leave me with the question about how levelers could be attached as described and not directly on the frame.

Can you please elaborate? Thanks.

Hey Turtleback. I don't know if the brand makes a real difference, but I would definately go with one at each corner. Four on the ground will give you the best stability and the most adjustability.

I prefer both.

My previous gas coach had the JetAir automatic air bag suspension which is great when underway, reactive to crosswinds and coach loading however for parking I prefer the hydraulics. So the ideal coach would have both reactive air bag suspension and hydraulic levelers.
