Had a similar issue. The edges of the hubcaps were rubbing on then rims. Bought some clear 1/4" poly tubing, split it after cutting into 3" lengths. Pushed over rim edges, six places then fastened the hubcap back in place. Problem solved. Added benefit, rain water collected between rim and hubcap causing rusting. The spacing added drainage paths. JM2cents...

I too, had this noise on the front wheels. I placed a large washer over each of the 4 lug bolts used to secure the wheelcovers (to act as spacers) then reinstalled the wheelcovers and the noise is gone. I had noticed that there was a gap between the wheel covers and the "real" lugnuts (at least 1/8") when you put the wheelcovers in place, so when you tightened down the nuts that hold the wheelcovers on, it must have created tension between wheel and wheelcover.

WOW that clear tubing sounds like a great idea...going on a short trip for the weekend. I bought a rubber mallet and banged the caps...around the rim. If I still have noise, will use the tubing. Tx alot
