Class A diesel MH with 1,500 miles

I am interested in buying a Class A diesel motor home for my family- probably a Winnebago. This is a good time of year as I can get some 2018 leftover Forza's. However, I see some 2018 motor homes listed as new with 1500 miles. Why is this the case? I would not think that test driving would put on this amount of miles. The savings on a 2018 left over model is really significant. Should I be concerned about this amount of miles when buying a new motor home?
Thank you,
ST

normally the miles would be from the factory to the dealer. since they don't put them on car hauler trailers.

Possibly the mileage was run up delivering the unit to the dealer.
If it were me dealing on it, I would stress the fact that it can't be new, because it has 1500 miles already. Should you be concerned, not if the price is fair.

The chassis has mileage on it when it gets to the manufacturer. Then more mileage from the builder to the dealer. Then the dealer may move it between stores that are several hundred miles apart for better exposure. Its not unusual to find a new coach with that many miles on it.

Pretty sure that’s the reason. I’ve seen new units with over 2K miles on west coast dealer lots.

Then there's the zillion RV shows that those things are driven to and from on an every other minute basis.

One other point as to the term NEW. Any Vehicle is considered legally NEW until it is titled to the first retail purchaser. So a vehicle could be 10 years old and have 100,000 miles on it and still be legally NEW if it has never been titled.

Most of our new motorhomes have around 1800 miles when they get to us in Tucson from the factory. Lots of times we move them to one of our other dealerships, which might add to another 1000 miles.

So if you buy a new Phaeton, for example, at our Sacramento store if could have over 2400 miles (Red Bay to Tucson to Sacramento) on the odometer and still be "new". And yes it is a lot of fun moving a wide assortment of MH's cross-country.

Mine had over 2,000 miles on it when I bought it new here in California. New warranty came with it.

Once they are unloaded at the factory they get driven from storage lot to production, then from production to paint shop, road test, driven then to the delivery service, then to dealership. If you look at the other new ones at that dealer from the same company, many will have near identical mileage. The warranty begins at the delivery mileage.

Our coach had 79 miles on it when we took delivery. Picked it up at the factory

Thank you to everyone who responded to this question. I did not realize that so many miles can be put on a motorhome to get it to the dealer. Therefore, I guess I should not worry about this issue. ST

Just purchased a new coach. It had 1099 miles on it.

Most rv’s make the trip from Elkhart, IN to wherever that are sitting for sale.

Everything said above is true, but to put it into perspective, when I bought a new Thor from a dealer in Elkhart IN it had 55 miles on it. So Ford to Thor to paint shop to Thor and then to dealer only put on that much. Driving to west coast of course is an entirely different matter.
