We had a Super C that was never used for camping or going to RV parks. It then changed use and we decided to start going on some trips with it and stay at RV parks up and down the east coast with intentions of going west.
We got so turned off by staying in RV parks of all price ranges with all the noise ,commotion, screaming unsupervised kids,drunks, etc. that we sold it. It seemed that no matter how strict the rules were, the owners or staff never wanted to confront anyone no matter how far outside the lines the behavior was. A night in a Walmart lot was enjoyable.

Not trying to be an elitist or kid hater (served our time) but are the Class A only higher priced parks and resorts better controlled in general? We are old and just looking for reasonable peace,quiet and sanity.

We are considering a new RV and we were leaning toward Class A for this specific reason.

Any comments? Thanx

There are of course the "over 50 only" parks but we find that $50+ per night (maybe higher in some parts of the country) gets rid of most undesirable aspects.

There are many Class A Motorcoach Resorts which are restricted to Class A's only. Some are reasonably priced and others are quite expensive.

Here are two that come to mind that I have stayed in for a spell.

I Don't think the kids or neighbors will be quieter if you're in a class A.

We have stayed in RV parks ranging from $30 to $80 per night. Yes the more expensive parks were better maintained and maybe a little less active, but then you already know that.

Never stayed there personally, but it looks great from their website. And they are Class A only.

I would recommend a Truck Camper. You can find a lot of place that you'll be the only ones there. That's why we chose a TC.

You'll run the risk of running into the same situation at any park, regardless of standards posted! If that is a problem, maybe RV'ing isn't for you. . . . . Of course, the higher end Class A coaches tend to have better insulation, so that would cut down on the noise if you feel the need to "retreat" from the bedlam!

I just find it hard to believe that all these people driving $500K+ RV's are willing to tolerate the type of behavior I have seen at too many places.

The vast majority of coaches in the higher priced "Resort" type campgrounds are occupied by two people with grey hair. Very few children at these parks and the few that are there are better behaved IMHO.

I've been rving in a MH for roughly 20 years and not once have I had any problems with other campers. I must be staying in different campgrounds.

In all the years we've RV'd, I've really only had one negative experience, we quickly got the heck out of that place early the next morning. The $50 plus per night really helps to weed out certain types!! I NEVER stay in an RV park without reading reviews, etc.... That also helps.....

30 years an RVer. Three or four less than desirable experiences over the years. One in New Orleans, one in Pocatello, one in Nashville. Actually the one in Nashville was funny to watch two drunk men trying to hook up a TT to a PU after being kicked out of a COE campground.

During the summer months, we find that camping during the week, when the parents of school age kids are working, is more peaceful, and the campgrounds less crowded. Totally avoid the major holiday weekends. Off season, fall and spring is no problem as school is back is session, and kids sports keep families busy.

We have been full-timing for over 10 years and the only times we found activities in the park to be bothersome was when we were in parks close to larger cities and the park catered to the weekend crowd. During the week the place can be almost vacant. Then Friday afternoon, the campers arrive, the toys are unloaded and the bonfires are lit.

We had to be in these parks for reasons like access to our doctors. We found the answer was just to go places on the weekend. Our rig was quiet enough that when we when in, the outside activities didn't bother us much. Except for the eternal bonfires that smoke everything up.

Campgrounds farther from big cities don't specialize on weekend campers and we find there is seldom a mass of bothersome people.

Your rig won't change things, where you stay and your attitude will.
