looking for ball park #, Boon docking, how much fuel will it tack per hr ?

I'm guessing your talking about generator fuel. Figure 1/2 to 3/4 gallons per hour depending on voltage draw.

I always figure 1 gal an hour and take it as a benny if it uses less

Our estimate, based upon past performance, is between 1/2 - 3/4 gallons per hour. It's been hard for us to get an exact number since we use the generator during both boondocking and over-the-road travel, bur 3/4 per hour on the high side is about right for us.

Load and fuel usage is base on amperage...not voltage.

I have had 8kw genny's on a boat and on my MH and I've averaged 2 to 3 hours per gallon.

Check the site of your generator,,, Onan for example. I agree with most as 1/2-3/4 gallons per hour depending on load, such as running the ac. Thats a big load...

Our 8KW diesel takes .26 to .72 GPH depending on load. Very seldom load it fully so probably .5 GPH for us. Have a Kubota 3 cyl liquid cooled Power Tech, runs at a constant 1800 rpm.

How big is the generator and how many watts do you draw when using it. Answer will be easier with those numbers.
