The TMC Outlaw changes listed above are confirmed:

The 37MD discontinued/replaced.

37RB Production has started - major change is starboard slide size (higher off the ground) and a real bed in the mid-bedroom.

All Outlaws will have Residential Fridges (11Cu.ft for Toy haulers, 22cu.ft for 38RE).

All Toy Hauler Outlaws will now have an option for a Garage Bug Screen at the garage door.

See: 2016 Outlaw Class A Toy Haulers: Class A Motorhomes w/ Garage by Thor Motor Coach

Safe travels

Newmar has confirmed with their website listing:
The Canyon Star 3920 is discontinued for the 2016 model year...now offering the 3921 (amazing Driver's side super-slide - dinette to the bedroom) and the new 3922 with the rear "Shed" (95.5"x56.25" - their word not mine).

Canyon Star floor plan options | Newmar

Both are 39'11" in total length...

The "Shed" (full RV width and almost 5' fore-aft) might be a super option...but has no entry from inside the coach. So, if used for a home office, kennel, shop, or similar where you don't want to walk outside to get in - maybe an interior "Hatch" could be special ordered(?)

Safe travels

Drop-Down Bunk

Have read about Toy Haulers that did not have the loft, so were sometimes optioned with a large drop-down bunk in the main salon.

These included the GTX and Safari Compression...the bunk rides up high against the ceiling in the middle of the main room during travel and is on a 4 leg lift system (ala' HappiJac).
http://lci1.com/happijac-power-bedlift
So, it can be a real mattress and can be left set-up with sheets (no tear-down).
Finally found a photo:

It is similar to the lift beds in the front end and garage of other Toy Haulers, but more focused on the adults in the party and a very different sleeping arrangement - obviously.

Safe travels

No loft either

2008 Class A gas Four Winds Windsport 34Y Toy Hauler
We have no "dedicated" sleeping area except the garage but
that area is for our dogs. I have been really looking forward to purchasing the Outlaw 2014 LS to get the loft AND the drop down front queen sized bed, so I can share travel costs with friends (and not be folding away beds).
I sure hope I can find the Outlaw I need, when the time comes to upgrade.
Seems like the big full sized garages are disappearing ?

What's full-sized?

The Outlaw 37LS and 37MD, and Canyon Star 3921 all have a 8x10 garage (the Outlaw is actually 8'x10'2").

But yes, for new RV's anything bigger and you will have to look at Truck Conversions.

The Bounty Hunter (GulfStream) and Outlaw 3808 had 12' garages...so they are out there in the used market.

Safe travels

Confirmed today. The Real Bed in mid-room of the Outlaw 37RB is fixed/flat and with the slide closed there is about a 4" gap between the end of the bed and the wardrobe.

I modified the floor plan graphic in attempts to show it.

This is oddly similar to the early Canyon Star 3920's...but, Newmar has since "seen the light" and gave the bed a tilt frame that allows an easy walkway to/from the garage - and it's nice for watching TV or reading in bed too.

Since the Outlaw 37RB has that awesome sliding glass door, here's hope TMC see's that a tilt bed is really required...and the frame is already available from LCI (a prime TMC supplier). Bed Tilt Sleep System
What say you - Thor Motor Coach?!

Changes are all in the mid-room:
The passenger-side Slide is much shorter.
The Big window in the slide is gone.
The Convertible sofa-bed is gone.
A Queen bed is added.
2 Side-tables are added.
2 Side-light windows are added.

The bed might lift at the head to make room for the slide to close (ala' Canyon Star 3920/21)

"The LCI Bed Tilt System utilizes the same time-tested Schwintek technology used in our slide-outs"

Quote from the LCI website.

Maybe Thor saw that quote and decided to wait and see, let it get time-tested a little longer!

Outside, looking in

Reading these entries in this thread have been very informative. As someone in the process of planning my own move into the RV world (hopefully sooner than later), I really appreciate the discussion and exchange here. This particular topic inspired me to share something that many of you may find entertaining. I happen to be very interested in the class A toyhauler... been looking at the Thor offerings and the others, for quite some time. I also find myself involved in graphics projects that recently crossed into the RV world. My doing. In an exercise that turned into a "project", I began an interior design experiment for an RV that kept growing into something way more fun for me. I did a "re-design proposal" for the Thor Outlaw 37LS and posted the resulting renderings on my site.

http://www.sightsandsoundsinmotion.com/project37lx

I hope those of you who check it out can get some enjoyment out of these pics as I have had making them. I would like to hear some comments from those of you that actually own these. I know I broke a ton of RV design rules and maybe even the laws of physics for the sake of "artistic" expression... But the end result may have been worth it. At least for me, anyway.
Thanks!

Prototype Outlaw 37LX

And WOW!

That's just amazing....looks to be part Outlaw 37LS, part Outlaw 38RE and part Challenger 37LX.

Thanks Druid!

Wow, I really like the lower design with the L-shaped couch! Not a fan of the kitchen on a slide though. I've heard of too many issues with that. Very impressive what you did though!

Pretty cool D. Priest. In the photos of the loft it looks like you have the bed N/S instead of E/W like the stock OTL. I like that because it makes the loft windows more functional. But I don't think there is room for that unless you somehow make the loft longer. I also like the extreme shine on the exterior paint. What wax do you use?

A full wall slide would sure be nice if Thor could make it extemely reliable, but I think they now are a little gun-shy about those.
