Class B non-CDL requirements in texas

I just bought a 40 ft Fleetwood Discovery and have read through some of the threads on The need for a Class B drivers license (non-CDL). The info seems to be out of date, I kept reading that you should read/study chapter 15 in the Texas Drivers Handbook. I have looked at the book and at the Texas Commercial Drivers Handbook neither have a chapter 15. So has anybody taken the knowledge/safety/skills test recently and know what is required and what study materials are available? Thanks!

I took the test a few months ago. Either the DMV office gave me the wrong test (I even went back up to the counter to make sure I was taking the right test), or they told me to study completely the wrong stuff. The test I took was almost entirely geared toward commercial drivers. Stuff about carrying cargo and technical details like that. Luckily, I guessed my way to a passing grade.


When you go, I would double check with them which sections you are supposed to study. Overall, it wasn't that bad, just a hassle. Good luck!
