Class d vehicle reqmt

I am moving up from a 30 ft gas to a 40 ft Pusher requiring a d license in Ontario. I have my Z endorsement. I have been trying to find out what the requirements are for the vehicle to do my D road test with. ie could I use my gas 30 footer or a rental 1 ton F350 or? I don't have my new 40 footer yet. Thanks for your thoughts. My plans are to become a full timer 365 days/yr Rv'r. I imagine I will find lots of good stuff here.

fishman33, welcome to the iRV2 forums. I'm sure that someone from Ontario will chime in soon with an answer to your question.
In B.C. there was only an air brake training course required , no road test, but as I'm sure you're aware every province/state has it's own regulations.
Is any info available from the province on line?
Good luck , safe travels.
Just a caution on the full time thing; a lot of Canadian Full Timers have had issues entering the USA. You must be able to prove a significant attachment to Canada; i.e. own property; or you may be denied entry into the US. Check all the regulations before you start, because not being aware, can cause you a lot of grief.

I was told that you need a vehicle that has registered GVWR > 24000 lbs.
