Well thought try and take some of the roof. Thoughts on the black spots? New roof? Bleach water?

It's a slow process , but mr clean magic eraser works very well. I did my fiberglass roof , just make sure you wash the sides of the coach after each session (did mine over a 2 day period). Also make sure you buy a few boxes of them as they desolve as you use them.

How often do you wash your roof and what do you use to get the best results? Also what is to be used to seal and protect my roof? My roof is a rubber roof.

Hi,
On my rubber roof I used protect all roof cleaner and after 24-48 hrs I treated with protect all roof treatment. I cleaned 39 ft roof in 1-1.5 hours and treated about same time. Can't be happier.

Did some half bleach, half water spray bottle, let sit for five minutes then scrub off and rinse.
You can see the line where I've treated with the mixture.

I bought a couple of the magic erasers, just the normal ones. My roof isn't fiberglass, its rubber. The magic erasers did an amazing job cleaning my air conditioners and all my covers up top, but I attempted to scrub the roof in a spot and didn't see much difference. Has anyone attempted to use magic erasers on a rubber roof?
Also, has anyone have any experience getting the moss off the top? (see first picture)
And, I notice the caulk is cracking by the shower sky light (see second picture) I'm going to fix this, but the question I had was do you pull all the old caulk off first?
Thanks.

I use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser mop so I don't have to get on my hands and knees. I have a rubber roof that looks as good as the day it was put on. I will say the first time I used it, it took some work to get it clean. But now it's a piece of cake. I even had a guy who was parked next to me in Florida who was washing his roof, look over at mine and ask me when we had ours replaced.

On the EPDM roof I use a mild dish detergent (like Ivory) and Comet with Bleach. The rest is just a soft scrub brush that I have for auto washing. Wet...scrub....rinse...repeat until i am happy with my work. My 34 fter take about 30 min to scrub and I perform the task 2-3 times per season.

the thetford cleaning and protectant is the best to use on the EPDM roofs that I have found. watch using bleach and other chemicals, they will degrade the material. Camping world has several cleaner, protectants, you just scrub on with a sponge mop and clean off. make sure you wash the sides of you couch after to keep from messing up your paint.

I use 303 on my roof (fiberglass now, previously rubber) AFTER it's clean. Does a nice job keeping it clean, provides sunscreen, and when the AC water travels across a clean roof, it helps to keep your sides clean too. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but once you get on top of it, I'd recommend using 303 on a regular basis. I wash my coach after every use, and wash the roof about every 3 or 4. I wax the coach 1-2x per year and store it indoors. We are weekend warriors with occasional longer trips...

DirteX powder has worked very well for me. I use an old RV wash brush with a long handle and mix DirteX per directions in a 5G pail. Actually I was amazed at the great result.
Dicor used to recommend Spic N Span for their EPDM material until they began selling specialty products branded with their name.

My thoughts are any thing caustic will get on the sides as it drains off the roof

Two gallons of water, 1/2 gallon of bleach, cup of Dawn. Mix in a yard sprayer and spray on roof, AC, vent covers, etc and let stand for 5-10 minutes. Spray off with hose end sprayer. It is best not to scrub with anything but if you do make sure it is a soft bristle brush. Make sure you rinse thoroughly including the sides.
