Cleaning tire covers

My tire covers are old and tired looking. I have cleaned up the outside of them but the inside is looking miserable. The inside is a felt like fabric.
Does anyone just throw them in the washing machine.

A long soak in some Oxiclean would probably clean them right up

I'm not sure I understand, but you are concerned with a clean tire protectors inside, on a dirty tire?
