closet modification

Ok, I am sure I am not alone and when we purchased our rig, we didn't really look at the closet and storage in the bedroom for clothes. Our MH only has a small slide out closet and over the bed storage(which other that the ones on the ends is a pain). The DW wants to install some kind of closet system that would have a rack for hanging and shelves for folding clothes. I have looked at Home Depot, etc and most are either to deep(only have 18")or have to be mounted on the wall, which I don't know if would work since the paneling is so thin and actually sounds like it is laminated to the outside skin(doesn't sound hollow)and to top it off there is a raised portion of the floor against the wall so the side supports would have to be shorter in that area. Almost sounds to me like a custom closet insert made by a closet shop..

Here's a link to a previous thread which may give you some ideas.

Anyone ever add an organizer to the rear closet?

We actually have a fairly large closet in our bedroom. The problem was that there was a lot of hangar space & not much shelf or drawer space. We needed more shelf & drawer space than was there. We first added a 3 shelf cubicle unit from Wal Mart. I did not really like the fit so I made 2 of these cubicle units out of press wood from Lowes. They will cut the 4x8 sheet to what ever size you want. After figuring out what I needed and had Lowes cut the pieces for me I then just screwed them together and painted them to a color that matched the wood inside the closet. Its not an exact match but no one else sees it. I also added 2 long shelves close to the floor level for shoes & whatever.

Heck that pretty much looks like ours now, we got the plastic containers from Wal Mart and a small wooden file cabinet we had when we bought the rig. I am looking for something like the closet organizers systems you see at Home Depot and other places. Will just have to be modified and anchored. Thanks for the link...
