It sounds like you left a positive battery cable off the battery. There is normally more than one cable that hooks up to the positive terminal. Take a close look around the battery for another cable that is not connected.

Just went through this myself. The Generator in my coach starts off the chassis battery. The 2 house batteries in my coach are connected positive to positive, negative to negative to ground. The auxiliary solenoid cable needs to be connected to positive. I orignally had it connected to negative and nothing inside worked. I actually paid a mobile mechanic to come out and he said everything was connected properly. So NOT! I followed my hunch, connected the batteries and aux solenoid the way I thought it should go and everything worked from that point on.

Your coach should have a battery disconnect switch somewhere, usually near the entry door. Sounds like it may be off. If not, perhaps the solenoid relay that it operates has failed (or you left off the wire to the battery that operates that solenoid).

Your generator probably starts off the chassis battery.

coach battery in triple e 2002 commander

thank you all for your responses. It turns out there are 2 disconnect switches....one is in the battery compartment but not easy to find. However, we found it and the batteries appear to be working fine.
