Coach generator start

I have a 2005 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 37A. The rig has a 5500 Onan genny.
The generator won't start using the coach button on the dash but will crank over and start using the start button on the generator.
I think one of the house batteries is weak but when you start with the button on the genny, it kicks over strongly and runs fine.
Anyone else run into this?

Also, when you push the dash start button the green indicator comes on after about 3 seconds but stays solid and the genny is not cranking.

I appreciate any suggestions before I take it in.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would think that if the button on the generator works OK then your batteries are not the problem.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I agree with Joe, the same battery is used for starting regardless of the switch used.
No power to the dash switch, or bad switch, or bad connection or bad solenoid (or similar) somewhere along the line from the dash switch.

There is a multi wire connector near the generator that feeds the control board, I would check it first, by unplugging and then replugging it.

I had the same issue....Bad switch on the dash..... Test it by switching it out with the switch in the bedroom, if equipped. If not genny switches are cheap.
