We had one of their C's and would buy another one of their units in whatever model we want when we upgrade.
I don't think its so much condescension as preference. You're looking for a different experience than those who want a solid surface counter and hardwood floors. If you list manufacturers in order of opulence, the Coachman is going to be closer to the bottom of the list not the top. That's neither good nor bad, just the way it is.

We've had our 2014 Coachmen Mirada 29DSSE (Double Slide, Silver Edition) for over 2 years and now ~20,000 miles on it - we love it. Very minor issues with fit and finish (cabinet door needed replacing, table needed to be replaced) when we bought it that were handled well by the dealer. As stated before - Coachmen gassers have the standard "stuff" ours has the Ford chassis - Dometic A/Cs, refer, thermostats; Atwood stove, water heater; LCI auto levelers, Onan generator, Magnavox TVs. Let's face it you don't have a lot of brand choices for RV components no matter who "assembles" the coach.... We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coachmen - and have.
