Flag mount

I have always been weary of attaching items to the ladder that can cause movement. The ladder is only attached with the screws. It must work for a lot of people, I see the ladder mount on lots of MH. I prefer the drive the wheel over ground mount for our 24' telescope flag pole. I know it does get to moving during high wind. Just my preference.

Collapsible Flagpole attached to rear ladder

Do any of you with the telescoping pole just collapse it for travel but leave the assembly attached to the ladder?

I bought the 22' pole at a rally and installed the American and WI state flags on it. The next day it was very windy and the pole was bent over far enough that I took it down before it snapped (they say it won't break) or the flags tore up. I took it back into the rally and they exchanged it for a 16'er. I also have a solar light at the top for night time and have found that 16' is just right for me.

In windy conditions, two flags is too much on the 22' pole.

I leave my attachment brackets on the ladder, never take them off.

The brackets stay on the ladder, but the pole has to come off to remove the flag/flags, and would be sloppy in the brackets or stick up above the roof, and the light would get damaged, so I put it underneath.

We tailgated in our MH for many years. I had always wanted a flagpole, with USA and OSU flags. One game day, it was real windy, I had my Uncommon under tire flagpole stand and flag. Parked right in front of us a guy had one of those ladder flags. Attached about half way up the ladder.......watched it break the ladder just like a match stick. Not the flagpole, the ladder. I bet it was an expensive fix!

Yep like the song says...when the wind comes sweeping down the plains O K L A H O M A
