Comparing

Hi Everyone

Looking for input on comparing 2005 - 2008 Newmars, Tiffins, and Monaco diesel pushers. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Frank

Rigs built before the recession tend to be constructed better. During the recession, RV manufacturers that survived often did not have a full compliment of experienced help.

Using the search window at the top of every forum page will reveal lots already written on brand comparison. All the best.

I would recommend 2005-2006 for DP. 2007+ would have EPA restrictions installed on the motor (DPF, DEF, EGR, etc.). These restrictions played an even more pronounced rule when they were first implemented (2007-2009). To prevent potential expensive engine issues, I would look for a pre-2007 DP.

All three manufacturers made great coaches during this time frame. You should also include Country Coach, Travel Supreme, and Foretravel.
The Newmar folks can explain the integrated electronics E Plex issues to watch out for.
I would avoid the Freightliner rear radiator chassis coaches.
Watch for delaminated exterior panels and heat checked exterior paint in the dark colors.
Get the highest model, newest year (up to 2009), and best maintained coach you can find and afford. I set the cutoff year at 2009 because most chassis are built the year prior to the coach many used stockpiled engines.
