Compass & Outside Temp System

In my HR motorhome I have a Compass & Outside Temperature Unit.
Last year it went to the 'camping mode' each time you turned it on. It would remain 'lit up' for about 10 seconds, then go back to 'sleep', even with the ignition turned on. Then on our way home this spring it 'fixed' itself and worked like a charm. Coming back to Yuma it went back to its old tricks, it turns off after 10 seconds. It has only two buttons 'FC' and 'Mode'.
Is there anything I can do to stop it from turning off while driving? :

American Technology Components makes it and they are usually helpful if there are problems, and they do offer repair service at reasonable prices. However, it's a small unit and maybe the answer is to replace it rather than repair.

Contact them at https://www.atcomp.com/

Or get a new one at: https://www.amazon.com/American-Tech.../dp/B0081W8VUU

I've been looking for something like this for my coach. Thanks!
