Condtion of "NEW MOTORHOME" immediate help needed all opinions considered

I just returned from a trip - 8 hours thereand 8 hours back -plus time at the dealers.

Now when I got there I went to the coach to see it and thought - OK another coach nice looking seems in good shape. As the salesman and I walked around - this is a coach on the lot- I looked in the bins - checked for damage found rust on the frame - not a lot and the salesman tells me that ALL MOTORHOMES that are from the BEACH had rust on them??????

walked around and the bin with the electric connections where they were coverd in pollen!! There was the 50 AMP, a converter to go to 30 AMP and at least 50 to 100 feet or 30 AMP. - packaging for a hose with a sprayer still sealed - The next bin carried the water system for out side - the water was connected and running - I did not think about it but wondered how long it had been runnning since there was a substantial amount of run off from the hose connected to a water hose.

OK so maybe they wanted me to check the water on the inside. then I got to the discharge bin - the SANI-CON was not in it's place was full and stunk - this is a new motorhome??? ALSO the hose was connected ( not the sani-con) just a discharge hose nothing open. OK so they were testing?

THen we went inide. The steps were dirty, there was no covering on the carpet inside - the loungers were nice and seemed clean - all the night shades were down and the front curtain was drawn I opened the night shades to see better and found the carpet was filthy - well much dirtier than what I would have expected in a "NEW" unit.

Going back to the refrigerator - full of beer and cheap beer at that a sandwich and a couple of other things in it. The sink was clean seeming ly but the convection oven had been used and had a mess in it. The cabinets had cleaning supplies under the sink.

Next the the bathroom, the floor was filthy and I mean filthy almost as bad as the dirt, grass in the kitchen. There were towels ( used ) in the bathroom - in the cabinet was tooth brush, paste, deoderant, colgne etc and under the sink was a small zippered bag. In it was other personal things including medicines including viagra.

The bedroom had sheets, blanket and cover on it the cabinets had pillows and I don't mean decorative pillows or new pillows. The drawer near the bed had underwear in it and the wardrobe had clothes in it. Again let me remind you this is a NEW unit.

Before I could ask the salesrep any information - my friend showed up and was being all "HAPPINESS" and interupted my questioning. Has someone been living in this unit on the lot??

I think so! And this is supposed to be a new unit.

Now I like the unit and it is an older one so there is no ordering it but I do feel that I should not have to pay their asking price for a unit that someone has obviously been living in!!!

So beside a complete cleaning, a new mattress, new SANI-CON ( I don't want someone elses - you know!!), I think I should get another 15 - 20 % off this unit. I also want every thing top to bottom throughly scrubbed.

SO blast away with your opinion? DO you think I should forgo this dealer and have another franchise get this coach and do the work on it?? I live where there is a closer francise and I did not know that they would do that until the sales rep told me that it was supposed to be moved to the dealer closer to me. Do I feel dumb!

I like the dealer closer they have been really nice - I would have prefered to use the one closer - just did not know and now I feel obligated to work with this dealership - but don't exactly trust one that let's someone live in the coach and advertise it as NEW!

Let me know

Thank you so much

One more thing - this is a 2008 that never was titled MSRP - 183K asking 112K. I did not expect it to be in the condition it was in but like everything about the coach - but did not expect it to be "LIVED IN"

Again do you think I should work with another dealer on the same unit or work with the guy there? He did not seem surprised or appologetic - but he was very polite and very nice.

Thank you again. Regards.

RUN, don't walk away from this deal. If it starts badly it will only go downhill from there. There are plenty of other coaches out there that are in reputable places. Be patient and wait for the right one.

Post You are TOO nice

Just as teacher said: RUN, R U N as fast as your legs can carry you.
Something must be wrong with that Dealership. You are not obligated at all. The Sales Rep. is not on top of his profession. You just don't show a MH in that condition.

IMHO, this motorhome was "Used" even though it never was titled. Like others have said, Run, don't walk, away.

Reminds me of when we went to see a supposedly "new" coach on a dealers lot during the 2007 Hershey show. We drove from Hershey to Easton, PA (couple hundred miles round trip) to find an obviously used coach with rust in the compartments, etc, just like you saw. We went back to the show after voicing our displeasure with them for wasting our time. I found out a couple of weeks ago that that dealer is now out of business. Needless to say, I will not be shedding a tear over their demise.

BTW, we went back to the show and decided on the coach in our sig, bought it after haggling with dealers for a few months. We got what we wanted at the price we were happy with.

Don't worry, you will find a better deal, it may take some time but you'll find it.

Good Luck!

In this day and time why would you even consider this coach? Price is not everything in the deal. I don't think you would ever be completely satisfied with this unit. I am like the O/P's run out and get in your car be gone.

It has about 3500 miles on it. And about 300 hours on the generator - I read it as 2963 hours but my friend who has had motorhome told me that could not be possible.

These clothes belonged the the camping world employee - they were hanging in the closet and they had the logo on it.

This is a franchesed dealership.

My friend said it was no big deal since the reps do this all the time since they often let the employees use the motorhomes to go to the Motorhome Shows. But not like this. It was obvious that someone was using the motorhome.

I do like the layout and I do like driving this one - but I am wondering if it would be worth it to put in a really low bid along with all my requests and it it goes take it if not walk away.

I am not in a hurry.

LL, like others have stated RUN!!!. I don't care what the dealer is saying, this unit has been used, rode hard and put away wet.

Any sales "professional" who shows a rig with a dirty bathroom, viagra in the med cabinet, and gonch in the drawer....does not take his job seriously. Even used rigs are cleaned up better than that before they show them.

Went through something similar a few days ago. The only difference was the sales rep was up front about it. We were told this was the coach the dealership owner used and that it had never been licensed so it could be sold as new. They were giving a substantial discount and calling it a demo.

Just a question here. I have been looking at a new 2006 36' Ventana on Ebay. 1600 miles never registered, full warranty's etc for $120000 open to offers. This coach is just what I am looking for but now I'm not so sure. Maybe someones done the same here and I won't be able to check as its on Ebay. Any opinions?
