Connecting a Coleman gas gril to my low pressure connection in MH

Has Anyone actually connected a Coleman gas grill that needs high pressure connection to low pressure hose from RV?

Yes you can do it, but you must remove the regulator from your grill as the coach already has one. Or tap in to the LP tank before the coach regulator and then you have no need to alter the grill. They sell kits that allow you to do this at most camping stores and online.

Yes I have. You have to remove the regulator from the gas grill an plumb in a short pigtail with a quick disconnect. I used a 12' hose plumbed into the low pressure side of the LP. My motorhome had a hard line run to the pass side of the rig with a shut off valve. If you don't remove the regulator from the grill, you won't have enough pressure to light the grill.

The regulator on coleman is external and is out. I now am looking to connect the hose to the connection of Coleman and having a hard time finding the adapter that matches Coleman.

Yes, I know of people who have hooked up a grill that needs a high pressure line to a low pressure hose. And, it did not work. As stated above you need to remove the regulator on the grill if you are connecting to a low pressure line. Two regulators will not work. This help?

I had to remove the adapter from the regulator and use 1/8 npt brass pipe nipple to a bushing to the hose. I'll try and take pics tomorrow

Here's what you will need to do the project I don't have all of the particulars on sizes but I think you can see how it was done. Tejas smokers was where I Acquired the quick connect and hose. Most of the other parts are from the local hardware store. Don't lose the spring and check valve stem when removing from regulator

This has been one of the most confusing topics i have had on the forum. But at the end thank to all i have it worked.

One question. Does Coleman grill have enough heat when you feed it with low pressure line?

You are just replacing the Coleman regulator with the regulator on your rig. Mine worked fine. Glad you got it figured out, any plumbing can be a PIA

I've been using a Baby Q and a 2 gallon tank for 6+ years. Both are easily stored and used anywhere without the bother of long hoses. The Baby Q has never failed to ignite and does a great job.

I hear carrying the tanks inside is not code and illegal. They have to be outside the RV.
