When plugged into the 20 amp outlet your Energy Management System(EMS) in your RV will limit what can run based on the available power, so everything may not work as when plugged into the 30 amp outlet and this is normal. If you have an EMS panel check to see what lights are illuminated to indicate what appliances can accept power when each power source is plugged into your RV. It would be helpful to know the year, make and model of your RV.

We have a 02 Itasco Suncruiser. The converter was replaced a couple of years ago by the original owners. We just bought the coach in July.

I will explain my confusion

a 15/20 amp (House wall outlet) is 120 volt
A 30 amp RV outlet is 120 volt
A 50 amp RV outlet is 240 volt

NOTE: if your 30 amp outlet is mis-wired... (240 volt) be glad you have not let the magic smoke out of your electronics.

If yours is a 50 amp rig.. It may be your dogbone is broken

50 amp service used 3 of the 4 wires (Safety ground needs to be there but is never (hopefully) actually used)

30 amp service just has 2 wires

The 30-50 adapter thus hooks two wires together,, OR at least it is supposed to.

It may be that it's not working but your 15-50 is, or that in moving it from one to the other the other wire connects.

But this applies ONLY if yours (like mine) is a 50 amp rig.
Home is where I park it!

I have found no lose connections nor low voltage. I am coming to beleive that there is something going on in the converter its self. It was put in by in 08.

Check the voltage supply to the converter when you are hooked to 30 amp. You should see 120vac at the converter. don't assume, use a volt meter.
