Converter Location

I have a 2012 Coachman Mirada. I would like to know where the converter is located. I think it is defective and need to check it out. I am currently workamping at a national park for the next 2 months and can't get to a dealer.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It is generally located in the same compartment where your cord is that plugs into shore power. They are usually very simple to replace.

In my rig, it's clear across the rig from the battery compartment in a tiny compartment under the sink. But, can't seem to get to it from there. Looks like in my case they built the RV around that cubby hole. Point is, they'll put them where ever they can fit them.

When I had to find mine, I disconnected the batteries while plugged into shore power, found which big wire still had 14V on it, and traced that big cable back to the converter compartment.

Check for a compartment with vents because it needs ventilation. Look under the refrigerator for instance.

My understanding is that more often than not look for some place near your battery compartment. Mine was under the left side of my refer but I had to pull the drawer from under the right side to get to it. There wasn't any vent slots or such to tip me off.

Try this...turn off all your noise making stuff like the AC, fans, radios and such. turn on all your 12V lights and other 12V stuff. You might be able to hear the converter fan. That worked for me.

Thanks for all for your suggestions. I found it under some pull out drawers next to my sink. It has no venting other than the area under the sink.
