I have coolant leak at coolant fill tank 2003 Monaco 400 Cummings where can i get replacement part Paul

The coolant , expansion tank, on my, Newmar on a Freightliner Chassis, is a Freightliner supplied part.
So I imagine that your coach being Monaco, the part would be Road Master, a division of Monaco. A Call to Monaco with your serial number should get you a price and part number.
With a part number you may be able to search one out on line for a better price.

Even though I have a Monaco product I elected to have my plastic tank replaced with a metal Freightliner truck tank. They had to do some modifications to get it to mount solid but, I will never have to worry about it cracking again.

Replacing the plastic surge tank is one of those predictable repairs. I installed a metal tank made by a company called "VML." There are two versions to the metal tank -- you want to make sure you get the one with the replaceable sight glass; it has a brass screw-in, nut-like fitting (I've attached a picture). The older metal tanks with the "built in" sight glass have a problem with the O-Ring failing under pressure. The part number for the new/improved metal surge tank with the replaceable sight glass is VML#T3495. Once you go "metal" you'll never go back! Good luck! \ken

I have a leak on my expansion tank around the two Allen heads screws.
Looks like I am heading down the same road with my 06 Monaco / ISL 400

Does anyone know if the material of construction on these tanks has changed to make them last longer??

I had to replace the coolant tank on my 2002 Windsor with a 8.3 ISC. I do not remember any allen head screws in the tank. Can you provide pictures.

I did extensive research on options, yes you can get metal tanks but I was not confident on the application as the design limits where and how you can mount.

I decided to go back with a Monaco replacement, which they indicate is new and improved construction using nylon. The tank does seem to be heavier and so far it doesn't seem to flex. I've driven about 3000 miles. Attached is a photo of the installation.

I bought my tank fro Guarantry RV, they had the best price ($215 including shipping) but this may change. The sensor location changed to the bottom right side, this is a Ford Parts Coolant Level Warning Sensor XC4Z-10D968-AA, 2 wire, I bought one on Ebay for ~$25. They offer a wiring harness also but I just used 2 small wire spad connectors and made my own and simply put silicon to seal. The sensor actually just sense fluid and makes a ground to the coolant to the radiator. You will also need 2 90 degree elbows on top, I bought mine from Lowes but needed 2 pieces, it would have been cheaper easier to purchase from Guarantry. I also replaced one of the two top 1/4" hoses on top as it was brittle and hard, this is the one from the engine to the tank, carries recirculating coolant, went to Autozone to match. Took me ~2 hours to change with most of this time draining the tank.
