Cooling Fan Issues
Hi, we have a 2005 Travel Supreme on a Spartan Chassis with a 500 HP Cummings Engine. We have had our unit 3 weeks and we have blown our 2nd cooling fan (fan alone price $650.00). Has any body had similar problems. We are waiting for a flat bed tow truck to pick us up and take our unit back to the dealer dealer where we purchased it. Love the unit, DO NOT LOVE the mechanical problems.

What "blew"? The motor, a hyd line, a fan belt, the fan itself?

Hi:
the fan itself, blades broke, had to cut 2 new belts to disengage the fan so we could drive our unit off the highway to a safer place.

Are you sure you don't have a bad bearing allowing the fan to come in contact with something? Is there anything in the general area of the fan that is not secure and could possibly contact the fan when the fan is in motion?

hi,
update on our motorhome cooling problems. Our unit is back at the dealers They have ordered new fan components and drive assemblies from spartan chassis. Dealer is paying for all even a 450km. tow. Hope to have it back soon .

Bob......Two good places to stop on the Oregon coast. One is the Mill Casino in Coos Bay. Very nice/large campground next to the casino. At Golds Beach is a small, but nice campground called Turtle Rock. The campsite allows you to walk right out onto the beach. In Brookings at the Oregon/California border is a place called the Port of Brookings RV Park. The campground isn't luxurious, but the sites are right on the beach. Good for an overnight stop.
If you stay at Golds Beach, Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boat ride is a fun trip that you can buy a half day or full day trip. The half day goes up the river about 30+ miles and they drop you off for an included lunch.
