Copilot seat footrest stuck in out position
Copilot power footrest stuck out position
Any ideas on how to fix the (flexsteel) copilot power footrest that is stuck in the out position blocking the entry. There is power to half of the footrest, but the other half doesn't work.

Does it have one motor that runs both screws??
If not check power to dead one. If it has one motor then you have to check the drive that turns the screw.

It has one motor for both screws. We can see that the screw will not turn. The screw is not bent. ???

Can you follow it back to the motor to if the shaft has failed? Can you turn it with a pair of pliers to get it started?

One motor turns two screws, there has to be a connection somewhere for each screw, find those connections and you should see the problem. Without seeing it it's almost impossible to diagnose it but inspecting it closely should show the problem. It could be a stripped worm gear or a dislocated gear.

Make sure all electrical connections are secure. We had a problem with one of the seats because the connections were not being made.

Step cover on my coach has the same kind of setup I expect. Is there a motor with a couple of speedo type cable from each end to a small gear box on each screw shaft? May be a couple of things > pin that attaches the inside of the cable to the gearbox has broken (you hope) or the shaft end has broken and you will need to replace cable device $$$$$$. If one side is working and the other is not, then you may have already broken one of them. Flexsteel may have a ready solution for a fix, I hope they do because all Damon could do with my step cover was tell me stuff that was not there and solutions that cost hundreds of dollars

[QUOTE=Juju;1582804]Can not turn it with pliers.[/QUOTEI went out and looked mine, There is a cable going to each screw, there are small bolts at each gear head, You will have to remove the gear head to see which end the connection is broken on.
