Cost effective backup camera system

Looking for cost effective backup camera system for 31 foot class A motorhome that really works. Prefer wireless due to ease of installation. Do not have any experience with backup camera systems.

here is my set up very simple for a do it yourself'r.

Amazon.com: PYLE PLCM25 2.5-Inch TFT LCD Monitor/Night Vision Rear View Camera: Electronics

bought this cheap camera, it only had a 2.5" monitor installed it but done a little mod to it. My daughter has a dual DVD Sony player in my wife's car so i took the dual screen that was not used that had VGA input plugs and plugged it in lieu of the little screen. Now i have a 7" color display on the dash for $54.00,now thats not bad many people has spent several hundreds doing this job. That particular camera has night vision and is great for night time backing in dark camping spots.

How did you mount that camera? With only 17ft of cable how did you wire it up (it doesn't say its wireless so I'm guessing its not)?

Camera backup system

TNMike,

I am still looking for a cost effective camera backup system for my recently purchased class A MH. The system that you remarked about the 17 ft. cable would certainly need some modification to work on a class A motorhome. Tadibroth.. has some cost effective camera systems if they work. Also rearviewsystems.com has some really nice cameras. Both these systems do have longer cables. Thanks for your input.

I just put a system from Rear View Safety on my 95 Winnebago Brave. It works great and I am well pleased with the purchase.

I bought one from costco for the pace arrow I used to have. Easy to install and worked good.

Just zipped tied the cable to the frame.

it is a standard RCA cable, had and extra 30' in the basement. I ran it and a power cord under the coach along the wiring harness to the rear spare tire cover where the camer is mounted. Came thru the floor right at the firewall.

Just bought this one from costco. Costco - Backup (2) Camera System with 7" LCD Screen by Rear View Safety

Went 2 camera to have a spare camera and 60' cable. Saved about $70 from costco site, and about $100 off the spare stuff. I can always mount the 2nd camera on side, or front or on back of toad.

Thanks for the feedback. I will certainly look at the Cosco system. Are there good instructions with the Cosco camera system?
