Cost of tires

I just used tires-easy.com to get some 19.5 tires. Better prices by far than I could find local. When I pay for shipping and installation I will still be saving bucks. It seems the 19.5 tire is hard to find around here???

I put Cooper Roadmasters on my previous RV last year and was pleased with ride quality and wear. They were 245/70/19.5 and were about $165.00 each. I believe they have 22.5" sizes as well. May be worth a look.

I just looked at the FMCA prices and the $379 is the tire now plus $11 FET plus mounting and balancing plus sales tax plus disposal of old tires. The way I figure it I'm only about $10 over, so $60. Also you have to take into consideration I'm in New York the highest tax rates in the nation.

check out Hercules tire they are made by copper that is what I put on mine 1692 out the door got the when I was back in MI last summer and am very happy with them They have a great warranty with them You will find all the big rigs using them you can PM me if you want some information on where I got them well worth it they also give a great ride

I'm convinced that tire prices are tied somewhat to geographic location. Had 4 235/80/22.5s installed on the rear of our W-22. Tires quoted by Sam's Club were $449.00 per...I opted to spend the extra $80 bucks to save my back during transport from Sam's to installer.

From Glenn's Tire and Service here in Melbourne, today:

4X 235/80R/22.5 Mich/XRVs.............469.40 @ = 1877.60
I had new solid valve stem kits with hand hold inserts installed, mounted and computer balanced. Of course the state, fed tax and state disposal fee, all of which came to $2412.39 for the four - out da door.

That's not the end of it...they found and I saw the severe cracks in the rear brake rotors...geez, when it rains, it pours. Will call Josam's in Orlando tomorrow for an additional estimate...with pulling the axles, new seals and gaskets and new rotors/pads, Glenn's quoted $1940 with inbound parts freight.($125 ) Sounds a little high to me...we'll see.

Found my receipt and thought I'd share the exact amount. I know you asked about a different brand, but at least this is a comparison. I wanted to go with the larger size as Country Coach recommended it for my Inspire as it was "important to the ride" according to the designers.
Bridgestone 295/80R-22.5/16 $709.77 each.
Spin balance with wheel weights $29.25 each.
Metal Valve Stem rebuild $3.75 each.
Labor $81.00

The other advice I heard was the fresher tires, with date codes that indicate they had not sat on the shelf for a year, are usually more expensive. Hope these last me a long time. The ride sure is nice.

My tire guy is telling me that the Michelin is the only tire that will fit my coach, I am not believing that. So has anyone used a different tire that matches the Michelin 235/80/22.5 ? What I need is the size, maker, and the designation that is on the tire. I see some using Hercules, continental, toyo, yokahama but what size matches that Michelin?

Bridgestone R250F 245/75 37.4" or other manufactures in that size.
G670 Good Year 270/75 37.6"

All above will fit.
