Cost of tires

I have the Michelin XRV 235/80/22.5, I am in the process of getting quotes for all 6 tires. The best I have come up with is $515 a tire so all 6 will cost with tax in $3365. What are some of you paying if I might ask?

About the same ballpark as I paid for the Bridgestones. It is not cheap is it. Does your price include installation?

I just bought 4 with the FMCA discount and the price for the tires was $2700 + $280 for installation.

You can save big $$$ if you go with Japanese Toyo tires M154. Just made a 2500 mile run on my new set and they are very nice. Paid $2500 for six that are the same effective size as the Michelins.

I just got four 265/80/22.5 Toyo's and the price for them was less than the 255 Michelins with the FMCA program + the two dealers I checked with wanted over $400 labor for installation. That was just LABOR and the new stems, etc were extra.

I had Michelin XRV 235/80/22.5 tires that were aged out. Replaced them 5 months ago. Here is my post about changing manufacturer and size, including price.

$400 labor!!! That's absurd! We recently had all 6 tires (22.5") rotated and broken down for inspection - $30. each... Done by an "over the road" service (probably the same one that Good Sam, etc would send for tire service)

Wow and am liking our Hercules 19.5 size, more and more at $194 on Amazon with no tax and paid even less a year ago, with the mounting of 4 on the rear. Did spend another $30 or so each for mounting and balancing at a local shop, but all is well with them so far at about 10K miles and has included a cross country tour for all of last summer as well.

I'm guessing it all depends on where you are in the US to what the price is going to be. That is $745 a tire, ouch.

The FMCA is better me thinks, at $379/tire and $2274 for 6. Your price of $515 OTD per tire would need to have $136 in install fee per tire ($816 for 6).

Leaving $275 in the table maybe.
