Costs for recovering Flexsteel captains chairs

I just finished reading an 11 page thread about defective Flexsteel seats installed on Thor motor homes. The seats in my 2010 Thor Hurricane look pitiful. I am capable of pulling the seats myself and taking them to an upholsterer. Anyone here had this done recently and have any idea of the costs? Thanks.

I'm getting quotes now in the DFW area. I'm seeing $250 - $500, and even more if going with real leather.

Is that per seat, or for both?

In the DFW area that is each and more. Some of these shops think they are airplane seats and try to charge you that price. I was looking at just replacing the whole seats because what they want. I was charged $250 just for sewing the seams of the table cushions 3 of the and I removed the foam.

"jlabit"......Have you called Flexsteel to see if you can buy new covers from them. Maybe plead your case regarding the Thor issue and see if they'll help you out.

I read the entire thread about the "Thor Issue". If they send me the same covers that are on my seats now, I think I'll pass on them. Any idea on whether they have improved the quality of material used since the problem era?

Flexsteel covers the seats with whatever grade of material the RV manufacturer is willing to pay for, so you ought to be able to get real but better stuff from Flexsteel, but maybe not any cheaper than local. And somebody still has to put it on the seats, so there is labor too.

Our 2007 Hurricane had the same problem in 2009. FlexSteel said it was up to Thor as they were the ones that ordered the seats and provide the specifications of the material.

After a few weeks of back and forth with Thor the finally agreed to provide me new covers for about $250.00 for the pair. I installed them myself and they fit great. Sold the coach shortly after that so not sure how well they held up.

I asked for a quote on doing both seats from a place in Pipe Creek, Texas. Hold on to your hat $2800. I think I'll shop around.

That is absolutely unbelievable!!! I'll leave it the way it is before I will pay that kind of money. Is he using 24 karat gold as a covering???
