could be dangerous

I use a black and decker toaster oven in our rig. Well the other day the bell which signals the timer is done stopped working but the oven did turn off. Two days later I noticed the timer did not stop when the oven was done. The timer continued to move the dial until it reached the "stay on" feature. If I was not home the oven would have been on. I realize that this is a very dangerous feature and now until i get a new oven I will pull plug after using. A fire could be started. The timer is just mechanical but that stay on feature will restart your oven, very bad for either a house or a rig. Just wanted to share this with you all.

Thanks for posting. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've always unplugged my toaster oven & coffee maker (blow dryer, curling iron too) when I'm done with them. I also turn off the water pump or turn off the shore water at the spigot & close the propane tank valve when we're away from the coach. A bit overkill unplugging/shutting off all those things, I know, but keeps me from worrying.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?
