Could two item going up in smoke be a coincidence?

I have a Progressive Dynamics power monitor installed in series with the output of the AC transfer switch. I have used the power monitor for several months without any problem.

I plugged into a 50a pedestal and when I entered the coach smoke was wafting out of our convection mw.

I opened the mh AC breaker for the mw and the smoking stopped. I opened the 50 amp breakers on the pedestal and started the generator.

Now I see smoke near the bed and after raising it saw smoke coming out of the 80 amp Inteli-Power battery charger. I pulled the AC input plug and then pulled the 3, 30 amp dc fuses too.

The PD power monitor indicated the pedestal power was ok and the generator too. I have no idea what has caused the two items to self destruct.

The refrigerator, laptop etc runs fine on pedestal AC.

Setting in the Nat Forest in the rain charging the batteries with a 300hp generator hoping someone knows why all the smoke came out.

Something miswired in pedestal power?
You said everything was good previously.
The issue started when you plugged in.
Something went awry at that point.
More info would help and internal pics of your transfer switch and power monitor setup.

Progressive Industries makes the HW 50-C and the PT-50C Monitors

Progressive Dynamics makes Converters.. I was not aware they made a power monitor.. YES, I knwo it is confusing.

If the Progressive Industries HW 50C says power is good.. I'd tend to believe it, However I would also test using other hardware I have handy.

If this is what you have (either hard wire or portable) - you really need to get the EMS-PT50C which will CUT POWER to the coach the instant it senses something wrong with the power.

This doesn't afford much protection
