Country Coach (1997 Intrigue) water filter

I recently purchased a '97 Country Coach Intrigue and noticed that there is an internal factory installed water filter located in one of the bays in a separate enclosure. I have not as yet removed the enclosure. Did some internet research and it appears that the replacement is model # MAXETW-975RV.

Would appreciate any feedback as to whether or not this is the right filter, or if there are any alternatives available other than the model I reference above. Also, can the filter by bypassed if sanitizing the fresh water tank?......thanks..........Meltdown

That is a very basic water filter, 5 micron, not doing much other than removing chlorine. I would replace it with a high-quality filter that removes most contaminants down to .5 (1/2) micron.

We use the Camco blue in-line filter in the hose outside and the high-quality filter under the sink for all water that we consume either by drinking or cooking.

No, you do not have to use the exact filter you list. Filters can be had to filter different things so I suggest you spend some time reading about filters here https://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/.

The easiest way to bypass the filter is to remove it and reinstall the filter bowl without the filter.
