Can't do it without prior arrangements with Canada officials for purposes of hunting or such.

Positively NO handguns at all!

Long guns if you fill out the proper paperwork ahead of time, have it approved and pay the fee for each long gun you are crossing with.

Don't even think about hiding any guns as they WILL find them. Then they will confiscate your RV and everything you are crossing the boarder with, then off to jail and when you get out you will have paid a very hefty fine of multiple thousands of dollars.

If you have a gun permit in your home state when they check your passport at the Canadian border it will show up. Then the fun begins with the questions and if they don't believe the answers they will search. If they find anything thru search or xray you will lose .Leave the hand guns at home or expect to go thru the truck xray line or an intense search.

We don't travel with guns so we weren't worried but there were definitely questions. Didn't have any problems but on the way out of Alaska heading south we went through the border crossing. I pulled up to the window and the woman started asking questions, one of the first ones was do we have guns >>> "No". Several more questions and then she asks where we keep the magazines, (my wife had a big pile on the front dash that she looks through as we are driving), I replied "right there" pointing to the magazines and my wife said "you can't take those, I won't have anything to do". The woman laughed, she said no Ammo Magazines. We all had a good laugh.

There have been some really good responses here and the OP should have a good idea on how to proceed. It's time to move on as the topic has drifted to other areas.
