Customer Care is a Wonderful Thing

We have a 2008 Winnebago Vista with about 9100 miles on it. It has a chassis that is by Ford and is the same thing as a 350 I think. We took it south recently and started having electrical or battery issues. My hubby is a Technician, he used to be a ASE Master Technician with Ford and he diagnosed it as a converter issue. The battery kept being drained and after analyzing and testing the batteries, he determined, through troubleshooting, that it was the converter. We nursed it back home and were going to put it in the shop for the issue. Then he noticed spots on the cement under the motorhome on the passenger side that appeared to be trailing as though leaking from somewhere around the tires, whether front or back. We called Camping World to make an appointment to get it fixed and they said no way to fix the leaking issue and they would fix the converter issue (since it is under an extended warranty) after the leak issue was fixed. But here is the cool part. He called Ford and made an appointment for the leak problem and pointed out to them that the motor home has only been driven for 9100 miles and it should not be having this problem. It turns out it is a hydraulic boost problem having something to do with the brakes. Ford agreed it should not be doing this and they are absorbing the $730 cost for this issue. That was pretty cool especially in this economy. We have all Fords and will keep it that way not only for their products but for their Customer Care. We hope to be full timers in a few years and his "thing" is to help others fix their issues when he is needed. He's a pretty great guy and we look forward to meeting our fellow RV'ers. Have a wonderful day!

WOW someone stepped up to the plate and took care of something for a change. The best part is they weren't even responsible to take care of it. Good for you. Hope all your future travels are a great time and hope to see you down the road. Good luck in planning the fulltiming gig in the future. Be safe and Happy Motoring!!!

Awesome feedback on Ford! Glad to hear this since I have a Ford powered MH as well.

If this is their normal way of handling customer service then it's no surprise that they were the only domestic auto company to not need or take a bailout from the government! Customer service like you received keeps people buying the brand!

Two thumbs up way up for FORD!
