CW $39.00 will install anything special

Please do not refer to CW in general as "they". Not all CWs are equal.

I have had excellent installation work at fair prices at CW, Swedesford, NJ since 2001.

"As you have already said you have lost a days wage, wasted $100 in fuel and had all of this aggrivation. It would have cost you $161 more than you thought and you would have had a new W/D installed in your coach. Instead you are without the W/D, lost wages, and $100 in fuel. Still have to find a shop, spend more fuel money, presumably lose more wages and possibly pay even more than $200 to have it installed and possibly pay more to purchase the W/D which I bet was on sale. Total up how much it has cost you and it might be topping $1000 in extras to show CW. And while I understand that this is being done "on principal" the question is did this kerfuffle hurt you or CW more?

BTW, I have done exactly what you have done too. But in hindsight, especially when I have calmed down after the fact, I realize that I have cut off my own nose."

So it cost me +- $400.00 that won't make or brake me or cw but they will lose out on any future mh sales from me, family and friends. I have owned 4 mh's and will be buying many more in the future. So I am thinking cw will eventually be the loser in my case but I am only 1 of many. I wish you good luck with cw.

I had CW in Wilsonville OR remove my old KVH dome satellite system and replace it with a Winegard Travler system. It was done in about 2 hours and the tech was great, he took me up onto the top of the coach, via the gantry staircase, to show what had been done and made sure I knew all about the new system's operation.

The whole thing was done with their $39 install deal. The total, out the door bill, was $1581.00 which I was happy with.

Swedesford?.... do you mean Swedesboro?
I will agree that maybe some/(one?) CW is honest and does excellent installation work.
However, I have found a lot of honest shops nearer my home base than a CW somewhere in NJ... (1.000+ miles away).

I am at a lost, the CW I go too (40 miles one way) have always been polite and willingness to help when I have a question, just yesterday I was in there shopping and went to the service counter and had 3 questions which were answered and they even looked up the Manufacture numbers for me to call about the product and my disappointment.
Yes they are higher with prices than the Big box stores (4 of them with in 10 miles from the S&B) but its the same for everything. Try Boating, a gal of gas at the Gas Dock is usually 1-3 dollars more per gal (don't ask about Ice) than on land. Pump outs are usually a added expense also.
I don't golf but I am sure its the same type deal there also I don't know But it would not surprise me.
I thought the same about the $39.00 install, so I learned today.
I would have made them stick to the $39.00 install.
I few weeks ago while at the Casino we went for there seafood buffet(yum) and they tried to charge us $28.00 ea. and when I told them that on the many Bill Boards we passed to get there stating $17.00 ea. We want it for the $17 bucks stated on the bill Boards. She was flabbergasted and called the manger, and she gave it to us right after this was told to her. I would not have eaten there if I had to pay the $28.00
Bite and Switch (sorry)
I would have done as OP'ers did and walked out. I would have liked the drive there though. Just me though. anyway
Stand up, Tim

Yes, Swedesboro! Swedesford is in PA.

I read ANYTHING I sign.

BTW, my towplate and wiring install on my Wrangler was on a $99 install special at CW Swedesboro, and it took 3.5 hours plus the towplate was on sale. As usual, no suprises!

It is always "buyer beware" folks. It pays to READ.

I'm confused
Which city/state has the good Camping Weird.... (Swedesford, NJ, Swedesboro, NJ, or Swedesford PA)??

BTW, in '02 I had CW install a base plate on my Saturn toad.
They DIDN'T misrepresent/lie about anything.... AND they DIDN'T charge more than they quoted.... but it certainly was a surprise to find that they neglected to tighten ALL of the bolts!
I suggest you check yours, (or have a good mechanic check it).

Your topic title is misleading. CW does not state this in their catalog. There is fine print to be aware of. I do not find this to be the exception as most "deals" from companies have some rules and exclusions. Whatever transpired on the phone becomes who said what and when and is impossible to prove.
If it were me and I was going to drive that far I would have asked for an installation quote to be faxed or emailed before I left home. You shouldn't have to, but it appears from many previous posts that CW does not always honor their word. You might want to visit the other forum where you can post your issue to CW directly.

Try and live up to your dogs opinion of you.

Thanks Mel. I know it is well meant.

It was this one
http://m.campingworld.com/stores/nj/swedesboro/36/

No need to inspect. The tech showed me all of his work and explained it all before he lowered the hoist.

He has installed 2 towplates for me over the years. Never a problem!

The other forum? what other forum?

I have a written work order with the $39.00 installation quoted on it. That is the problem I have it in writing and they didn't spring the new price to me till after they had my mh in their shop.

RVnet - and that is an excellent suggestion btw. Your grievance will be heard by CW and more than likely you will get a response. It might not be what you want to hear but at least you will be talking to management of CW.

If you do go this route please let us know what happens.
