Damon challenger 371 feedback?
We are interested in purchasing a 2009 Damon Challenger 371 as our first RV. Everything we have researched indicates it has all the features we like. Would like input or feedback from current Damon owners or experienced RV enthusiasts before we take the "plunge"

Hello! We have a 2011 Challenger on a Ford chassis. We really like the floorplan, as well as the amenities. We really wished that we didn't have the king sized bed, since it limits the "walk around" area when making up the bed, etc. We find that the fit and finish is good and the drivability, while a little noisy at times, is more than adequate for towing a Jeep Wrangler and getting over some of the hills on the east coast. Other than the Lippert jacking system, we have had no significant issues with the coach, and Lippert replaced the hydraulic pump under warranty. We have about 12,000 miles thus far and will continue to travel in spite of the ridiculous gas prices. Good luck with whatever you decide on purchasing. I think that Damon puts out a good product for the cost. Shoot me an e-mail if you would like further information.

Had my 371 since June 2008, 32000 miles ago. The unit had the floor plan we loved - we snowbird in Florida and the setup provides some seperation/isolation we need now and then. Haven't had too many things fail on the unit. It does have some issues that I've fixed - extra towel hanger in bathroom, additional shelfs in cupboard by microwave and over sink, etc.; added a topper to the kingbed mattress - better now than the bed at home; added a power management system to protect all of the electronics. I regularly work the generator and just modified the furnace controls for greater flexibility (posted in Thor/Damon) forum. Just like any RV, it has its pros and cons, for us the pros still out weight the cons. Just my two cents...email if you like more help.

We've had our 2006 Challenger for 2 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. F53 chassis. I did install the 5 star tune kit to optimize the shift points and engine performance. Significant improvement. No problems to speak of with the coach. It only had 2800 miles on it when we bought it, so it was in like new condition.

Bronk: We have the 2011 Challenger too. Had problems with the day/night shade and the big slide-out. The air mattress would not hold air for more than 18 hours. Cruise control would jump our RPM to 4500 rpm on the slightest grade. Took it to the factory for repairs. Seems to be ok now. Otherwise, we are happy with the unit. Pete Gunn

Don't buy a Damon./Thor until you checked out the deteriorating leather section of this forum under Damon. Especially if you want a 2009 or 2008. Damon/Thor will not stand behind their product and you will spend more time fighting what will become a very ugly and old looking coach as the faux leather just peels away.
