Damon Escaper Slideout problem

Hi all ..... it's a 2008 Damon Escaper, DP, and I can't get the living room (street side) slide to fully close without 2 of us pulling the top from the inside while bringing it in. Otherwise the bottom stops about 2" short of the wall on the outside and the top is about 6" out. All rollers are in place and I can't find any hardware that is loose or looks like it shifted. I see some spring mounts and I wonder if the spring tension has weakened and they no longer hold the outward portion of the slide high enough when closing. I've known this guy for 3 years and this slide room has always been "tipsy" when running in & out but always seated properly until recently. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up

I have an 08 damon challenger and it has the ACCU-SLIDE system by BAL. It has a cable at each corner you should be able to see with the slideout extended. If this is the system you have here is a link to their website telling you anything you should need to know from trouble shooting to replacing cables and adjusting the cables.BAL - Innovative Products for the RV Industry Hope this helps you out. good luck

A correction here, it's an '05 Escaper with an electric (gear drive) slide.

I can't find this on Lippert's site. All I can find is a flush floor hydraulic slide mechanism.

Bingo! What a collection of literature. I didn't find the one I'm working on now, going down there to check for info. I bookmarked the page for use at work.

I got it fixed. On the outboard end of the rails there are springs about the size of tissue paper cardboard tubes. These springs lift the outside of the room when closing it so the outer rollers hit the little ramps. I had to adjust the tension on those springs. Works great now.
