I've been using my trusty Garmin GPS for years and love everything about it but the small screen.

Up on the dash of the coach, it's just too far away.

So for a while now I've been eyeing the Rand McNally RVND 7720 as a possible replacement for the Garmin.

Then a couple weeks back, I noticed Rand McNally had published what looks like the 7720 Software in an IPad version for a hundred bucks, so I jumped on that.

After running it on a trip last week, I like it a lot EXCEPT for the fact I have no good holder that will let me mount the iPad on the dash. There appear to be many "adapters" on the market but nothing that impresses me as being the perfect solution.

So I thought I'd just ask if anybody has found the perfect dash area mounting solution for an iPad on your class A?

If you've fabricated your own, pictures would be great!

Interested in this answer too.

Some BestBuys have an iPad mount with an articulating arm that looks very nice, except you need to be able to secure with a built in C clamp. Great for a desk but not very practical in the RV.

I use the ram mount iPad cup holder. Nothing permanent to damage the dashboard, and works very well.

I also purchased a floor console that has 4 cup holders 2 in front and 2 in back. Easily viewable by placing the iPad in this consoles cup holder.

I leave my Vizio 8" tablet in its folder which doubles as a table stand when not in use as a GPS.

I have added two small strips of velcro to the folder and the dash. That seems to work well in my rig and also was quite inexpensive.

But.....my Vizio only cost $190 vs your $600 IPad so I do not have as much investment at risk.

I did a Google search on the words "iPad dash mount" without the quotes and got a lot of hits. Some even with pictures.

Another vote for ram mount, conspicuously mounted a couple of the balls. Have a TPMS on one and my iPad (now mini) on the other. Permanently wired in to the the stereo's auxiliary jack and power under the dash.

I use the RAM Mounts setup with the iPad and Rand McNally app. I went with the suction mount but I think I will also try the cup holder option, as well. The setup is very interchangeable.
