Dashboard Access Panel

This is a follow-up to my Low Air Pressure alarm. The initial problem seems to have been resolved by resetting the connectors behind the gauge panel.

Of course this involved taking the dashboard panels off. While doing this, some of the screws were found to be stripped. The panels have obviously been taken apart in the past. The stripped screw holes were repaired with tight fitting wall anchors. Maybe by next time, I will have metal clips to slide over the stripped holes.

Does there have to be a next time? History tends to repeat, so probably so.

My thought is retrofitting/installing an access panel v all the wear & tear of dis- & re-assembly.

What are your thoughts?

Your dash panel does not lift up? Hinge in the back? My does.
Sorry for your trouble, glad you resolved it

Nope, to get to the back of the gauges, there are two phases of eight screws each. First for the front trim, then for actual dashboard shroud.

I've done some preliminary research, still at the conceptual stage. The hinge idea is intriguing.

IF I choose to do something, it needs to be neat, tidy, sturdy and look like it came that way.
